Mykonos is the ultimate summer holidays destination, both in relaxation, luxury and beach parties. But every story has its start. Mykonos started being a tourist destination at the early sixties, when the wealthiest and most famous people of the world, visited in order to meet the local cuisine, the amazing crystal-blue beaches, the ancient Delos and the incredible mykonian culture.
Mykonos has a different Residential building system than the other islands, with only two settlements, Chora (the port settlement) and Ano Mera, which is located near the Monastery of Virgin Mary. The rest of the island is sparsely populated with cottage houses, where the peasants build their houses where their land is, living there autonomic with their family and animals. When a Mykonian invites you to his “village”, he really means his house!
